Our Story

We are a small family run campsite situated in a quiet rural location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and with far reaching views to Dartmoor and Bodmin.  Situated on the Devon and North Cornwall border, this is an ideal location for those wishing to explore the nearby popular coastal town of Bude as well as the surrounding coastline and countryside.

Withing walking distance we have Upper Tamar Lake, a well stocked fishing lake with a watersports centre and picturesque walk around the reservoir, and Lower Tamar Lake, a nature reserve and home to many wildfowl.  Close to home we have numerous golden beaches including Sandymouth, Summerleaze, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay, perfect for bodyboarding and surfing.  If beaches aren't your thing then Hartland, Clovelly, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Dartmoor are all under an hours drive away.  For families, The Milky Way Adventure Park, The North Devon Wake Park & Aqua Park and The Big Sheep are all within a 30 minute drive.  Just over an hour's drive away you can explore Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Exmoor in North Devon and Bodmin Moor, Newquay and Padstow in Cornwall.

At Tree Tops we strive to be an envirnonmentally friendly and nature loving site.  Our touring site has recently undergone an extensive re-landscaping project which gave us the perfect opportunity to change the once empty steeply sloping field into something which will actively attract wildlife. We have added high banks to the once sloping terrain allowing us to level out the pitches, and these banks are now covered in both wild and cultivated flowers which attract many bees, butterflies and insects. We have added hedging to give you privacy but also provide protection and shelter for birds and insects.  The site is surrounded by well established trees as well as newer species which we have planted on both the site and the adjacant field.  Bird and owl boxes attract many feathery visitors and the bug boxes help to give shelter for bees and other insects.  We have spotted voles, mice, shrews, stoats, weasels, hedgehogs, foxes, rabbits, deer and toads.....and if you're really lucky you may even see the barn owl.  During the Spring, Summer and Autumn months the sky is full of house martins and swallows and the occasional visiting swift. In our adjacant field we have area's that we leave to grow wild with long grass and wild flowers which help to give small animals shelter, protection and food.  By allowing grasses and dandelions to set seed we also attract many birds, including goldfinches and greenfinches. We aim to continue our planting of trees, shrubs, flowers and ferns and hopefully we will be rewarded with yet more animals, birds and insects.

All of our 19 pitches are now fully serviced and provide 16 amp electric hook ups, fresh drinking water, a grey water point for piped waste, elsan point and water tap. With at least an 8 metre width and hedging between each pitch you can be assured your stay is very private indeed. The pitches are of a hardstanding stoned surface with a grassed area. Both the stone and grass areas differ in size from pitch to pitch so please check out the site map before booking to ensure your stay is on the perfect sized pitch for you.  Some of our extra-large pitches are up to 23 metres wide and provide a pitching space of 12 metres long and are suitable for RV’s but please ring us before booking to discuss suitability.

We accept group bookings from clubs and organisations which will give you exclusive use of the site.  Please contact us for further details.

We cannot currently offer washing, toileting or washing up facilities so can only accept touring caravans and motor homes with their own facilities.  We do however have BIG plans for the not too distant future! These include a heated shower & toilet block, a washing up room and launderette, a salty wetsuit/muddy dog/dirty bike hose down area, the Tree Tops fully licensed restaurant serving breakfasts and evening meals, a 9 hole crazy golf course and bespoke children's play zone with a seperate enclosed toddler area.
